Volunteering at Bicycle Links

Volunteering information

Volunteer sessions are currently running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:30am to 4:30pm at our King Street shop.

The sessions are run by Lorraine and Gary and we welcome anyone to volunteer with us. The volunteer workshop is in a separate space to our shop.

Volunteers come for one day a week and we ask them to do a minimum of eight weeks. You can skip a week now and then if you have other commitments, but we'd like at least eight weeks' attendance as consecutive as possible. For the first couple of sessions we give a lot of tuition, then gradually leave you to work on your own, so don't worry if you don't have a lot of previous experience. So long as you are willing to get your hands dirty - that's all that matters!

In exchange for your time we offer tuition in fixing bikes, a lunch allowance, a safe and friendly workspace, and job references should you wish. You'll also have the satisfaction of knowing the the bikes you refurbish make a difference to the community.

You must be 18 or over to volunteer with us. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in volunteering. We currently have a waiting list but will get back to you once we've received your form.

If you wish to refer someone else to us, please get in touch first to discuss their needs and abilities - email volunteer@bicyclelinks.org.uk  and we'll sent you a referral form and take it from there.
